I don’t think there is a more joyful moment in my life than when my 9 year old daughter told me this last week:

“Mom, I’ve been getting closer to God lately, and I’ve been thinking, I want to be baptized.” I literally couldn’t stop smiling!

As a mom, I wanted to be sure that my little girl knew everything she needed to know about being baptized. Baptism is major life decision to be clothed in Christ and filled with the Holy Spirit. But what could I do to explain to her the full meaning of this wonderful decision?

That’s when I went to Amazon, the place for just about everything, and there it was, a wonderful resource for this topic! I found a workbook for children ages 8-12 (perfect!) called God…Should I Be Baptized? by Laurie Donahue and Ralph Rittenhouse.

This book offers thorough explanations of God, Jesus, Baptism, and everything in between! And my daughter absolutely loves it! She is not much of a reader, but reached page 15 in her first 10 minutes. I also love the fact that it is a workbook! I know she isn’t just skimming the pages because I can go back through and see her answers to the fill in the blank questions it asks.

If your child is considering being baptized, I would definitely check this out as a resource! Even if your denomination does infant baptism, I think this is still an excellent resource for children to learn more about the nature of God when they are older.

If you’re interested in purchasing this book, you can click the picture below and be taken to the Amazon page detailing it further.

May God reign in your life today,

~ Angela
